Innovations in the Spotlight: These are the Winners of the Prestigious Designplus Award by Light + Building

As part of Light + Building, 13 companies were honoured with the prestigious Designplus Award. The ceremonial presentation took place on the first day of the fair at the Design Plaza, placing outstanding innovations and forward-looking design centre stage.

An independent panel of experts carefully selected the 13 most compelling entries from a total of 91 submissions. The jury comprised renowned industry specialists: Prof Amandus Samsøe Sattler (ensømble Studio Architektur, President of DGNB e.V.), Andreas Habermehl ((Managing Director of Technology and Vocational Training, ZVEH – Central Association of German electricians), Annika Egloff-Schoenen (Managing Director, Fachverlag Dr H. Arnold GmbH), Ulrike Brandi (Managing Director, Ulrike Brandi Licht), Franziska von Schumann (Publisher and Member of the Executive Board, Stylepark AG), Robert Volhard (Founder, Publisher and Member of the Executive Board, Stylepark AG) and Anna Moldenhauer (Editor-in-Chief, Stylepark Magazine and Platform for Architecture and Design). Sustainability, innovative strength as well as functional and design quality were key selection criteria.

During Light + Building, the award-winning products are presented as digital info hubs in the foyer of Halls 5.1/6.1 and in Hall 9.0 (Stand D74). In addition, they can be viewed in an online gallery on the Light + Building website: http://light-building.com/designplus-winners.

Exhibitors at Light + Building were able to submit their entries in five categories:

LIGHTING DESIGN & ATMOSPHERE +
USER EXPERIENCE & INTEGRATION +
SUSTAINABLE EXHIBITION STAND +

In the “Sustainability & Future Energy +” category, the winners were esave AG, Grundfos GmbH, Hager Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG, MENNEKES Elektrotechnik GmbH & Co. KG, Lightholm/Pedrobeat Lighting Company and XAL. ABB, Basalte and Georg Bechter Licht impressed in the “Smart & Connected Solutions +” category. Dexter Lighting and Nordlux A/S prevailed in the “Lighting Design & Atmosphere” category. In the “User Experience & Integration +” category, Albrecht Jung GmbH & Co. KG received the award. Zumtobel was honoured in the “Sustainable Exhibition Stand +” category for the sustainable design of its exhibition stand.The Designplus Award by Light + Building recognises products that combine innovation, design quality, functionality and sustainability. The award is presented in cooperation with Stylepark.
