Lumitec Introduces Poco Channel Expander for Greater Scalability and Control
Lumitec, a leading designer and manufacturer of extreme environment LED lighting solutions, is excited to announce a powerful new enhancement to its widely adopted Poco Digital Lighting Control system—the Channel Expander Feature.
Expanding the Possibilities of Digital Lighting Control
This latest innovation significantly expands system flexibility and scalability, empowering boat builders, integrators, and vessel owners to manage more complex lighting configurations with ease.
Networked Architecture for Greater Capacity
At the core of this update is the ability for Poco modules to communicate over a NMEA 2000-based network, unlocking new system architecture possibilities. By networking multiple Poco modules, total channel capacity and system current output can be significantly expanded beyond the traditional 40-amp per-module limit.
Built for Larger Vessels and Complex Installations
Each Poco module continues to provide four independent lighting channels, but with the new Channel Expander capability, these modules can now be deployed in coordinated networks—making the system ideally suited for larger vessels or boats with multiple distinct lighting zones.
Centralized Control, Simplified Operation
A key benefit of the update is the introduction of a centralized command structure. One Poco module can be designated as the primary control center, while additional modules operate as expansion units. This architecture allows users to configure and manage lighting zones more efficiently, streamlining system setup and on-water operation.
Designed to Grow with Modern Marine Lighting Demands
“This enhancement reflects Lumitec’s continued commitment to simplifying advanced lighting control while expanding what’s possible,” said Chris Fulmer, Lumitec Company President. “With the Channel Expander feature, the Poco system grows alongside the needs of today’s larger, more sophisticated vessels—delivering more capability without added complexity.”
Part of Lumitec's Integrated Lighting Ecosystem
The Poco system remains a cornerstone of Lumitec’s integrated lighting ecosystem, combining robust hardware, intuitive control, and industry-leading performance in a scalable platform designed for the modern marine environment.
