Police Station in Rotterdam Changes to CO2 Emissions Reducing LED Lighting From March to June 2008, a pilot project involving LED lighting was carried out at the Police Service Centre (PSC) of the Rotterdam-Rijnmond police force. This project came about as the result of cooperation between the Rotterdam Climate Initiative (a partnership between the local authority in Rotterdam, the Port of Rotterdam, DCMR and Detailings), the Rotterdam-Rijnmond Municipal Health Service (GGD) and the Rotterdam-Rijnmond police force. NASA Headquarters Launches New Energy-Efficient Cree LED Lighting The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) headquarters, a leased facility in Washington, D.C., has been outfitted with energy-saving CR Series LED Troffers by Cree, Inc. The high-performance LED installation is part of a renovation to maximize energy savings of the 600,000 square-foot building. More than 1,300 Cree CR22™ architectural LED troffers have been installed, and Piedmont Office Realty Trust, owners of the NASA headquarters building, expects the new fixtures to deliver energy savings of 52 percent over the previously installed T8 fluorescent fixtures. An additional 5,200 Cree® CR22 troffers are planned to complete the lighting upgrade. Read more »

Groom Energy and Digital Lumens Cut Americold's Energy Costs for Lighting by 90% with Multi-Site Lighting Upgrade
Groom Energy and Digital Lumens today announced the installation of Digital Lumens' Intelligent LED Lighting Systems at Americold facilities located in Massachusetts, Utah and Wisconsin. The new upgrades produce higher quality lighting and reduce overall energy consumption up to 90 percent or 2.3 million kilowatt hours (kWhs) annually. Over the coming months, Groom Energy and Americold are scheduled to upgrade facilities in Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois and Texas.
