Seoul Semiconductor Resolves LED Filament Bulb Lawsuit against Global Retailer Kmart and Pursues Further Patent Enforcement Initiatives Seoul Semiconductor Co., Ltd. and Seoul Viosys Co., Ltd. (collectively “Seoul”) announced that they have resolved a patent litigation that was filed on behalf of Seoul and The Regents of the University of California against Kmart Corporation. The patent case was filed in U.S. Federal District Court, asserting infringement of eight patents based upon Kmart’s sales of Kodak/Spotlite branded filament LED bulbs. Read more »

In fact, the true value of light lies in the combination of excellent visual, biological and emotional effects of light. LightingEurope uses the terminology “Human Centric Lighting” for lighting that brings such benefits to the users. A product or system can only be “Human Centric” within the context of people, time and space, thus within a specific application. First LightingEurope Summit – An Outstanding Figure in the Lighting Branch, Hands Over His Responsibilities Diederik de Stoppelaar, one of the most influential and esteemed personalities in the lighting branch, has retired and passed over his responsibilities to Ourania Georgoutsakou. One of his last activities was initiating the first LightingEurope Summit, a one-day program, where a number of respected and eloquent lecturers were invited to speak. The venue, The Steigenberg Wiltcher's, in Brussels, was a good choice for this first of its kind event.
